Data Center Facilities Technicians – Electrical

This global technology company operates one of the world’s most advanced data centers outside Skien, Norway. Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree, trade certification, technical training, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of electrical experience (e.g., testing equipment, electrical distribution) in industrial or commercial environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and work safely using platforms, ladders, and PPE (harnesses, fall protection).
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and non-standard hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience maintaining electrical distribution systems or in a construction/technical field.
  • Experience in critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, or power plants.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems (Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS, ATS/STS, PDU/PMM).
  • Familiarity with meters, sensors, diagnostic equipment, and troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to coordinate with contractors performing maintenance or upgrades.

About the Role

As an Electrical Facilities Technician, you will:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical and facility systems.
  • Support daily operations by reading schematics, reviewing sequence of operations, and assessing system performance.
  • Ensure uptime and reliability of UPS systems, generators, electrical distribution, and control/monitoring equipment.
  • Operate, monitor, and respond to abnormal facility conditions.
  • Support commissioning, startup, and integration of new electrical equipment.
  • Uphold safety, environmental, and operational standards while reducing costs and improving efficiency.
