Alfa Laval’s products are sold in about 100 countries, and 50 of these have their own sales force. The company has 42 production units (15 in Europe, 8 in Asia, 4 in the US and 1 in Latin America), and 70 service centers.

Alpha Laval currently has over 18,000 employees worldwide. Most of these employees are in Sweden, Denmark, India, USA and France.

Gustaf de Laval was a large technical genius, and his inventions include the centrifugal separator and the first functional steam turbine. During his lifetime he registered 92 patents and started 37 companies. In 1883, he and his partner founded Oscar Lamm Jr. the company AB Separator, the forerunner of today’s Alfa Laval.
