InflowControl was founded in May 2011 by Vidar Mathiesen, Haavard Aakre and Bjørnar Werswick in Porsgrunn, Norway. The founders have more than 15 years experience within passive and autonomous inflow control devices from Hydro, Statoil and academic research institutes. They are the inventors of the AICV® technology, as they were the inventors of the Statoil AICD, named RCP (Rate Controlled Production).
In August 2013, Saudi Aramco, the world’s largest oil company, became an important strategic partner when Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures (SAEV) announced an equity investment in InflowControl AS.
The founders are still the company’s main shareholders and represent the company’s top management.
HQ is located in Porsgrunn, Norway.
